TITLE AI and ML Based Pet Feeding System Using Image Processing
ABSTRACT The increasing adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies has significantly transformed modern automation systems. This project introduces an AI and ML Based Pet Feeding System using Image Processing to automate pet feeding in a smart and efficient manner. Traditional pet feeding methods rely heavily on manual intervention or timer-based feeders that cannot adapt to the unique needs of individual pets. The proposed system solves these limitations by using image processing and machine learning techniques to identify pets and dispense the appropriate amount of food. The system uses a camera module connected to a Raspberry Pi or similar controller to capture real-time images of pets. The captured images are analyzed using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for accurate pet recognition and classification. Once the pet is identified, the feeding mechanism is activated automatically, ensuring personalized feeding schedules and food quantity management. The system can also store feeding records, send notifications to pet owners, and support remote monitoring using a mobile or web application. The project improves feeding accuracy, reduces food wastage, and prevents food theft in multi-pet environments. The combination of AI, ML, IoT, and image processing technologies provides an intelligent, automated, and scalable solution for modern pet care systems.
