TITLE Android TTS OCR Converter System
ABSTRACT The visually impaired or blind have major issues in accessing written documents, books, newspapers, electronic documents, and net data. However, Braille has been available in supporting the visually impaired personnes as well as blind. Yet, the blind require learning Braille separately. In helping solve all the issues the above problems pose, the requirement of the ‘Text to Speech Converter System’ has been identified. The suggested system input could be text directly obtained or indirectly obtained using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) techniques. The obtained text could be converted into an audio signal using a Text to Speech (TTS). The suggested system could be implemented using software that is portable and inexpensive for use with smartphones or computers.Such a system would allow blind individuals to attain independence in accessing information, enhance the overall learning process, and improve the quality of life. It would be simple, cost-effective, and suitable for real-time applications.
