TITLE Bidirectional Sign Language Translator
ABSTRACT Communication is the cornerstone of human interaction, yet the hearing-impaired community often faces significant barriers due to the complexity of sign language and a lack of widespread understanding. This paper presents a real-time Sign Language Translator developed using Python and machine learning to bridge this gap. By integrating the Mediapipe library and Landmark module, the system achieves high-precision hand tracking and extracts 21 distinct hand landmarks. These features are processed using the Random Forest algorithm, which provides a robust and reliable classification engine for interpreting complex gestures. The system converts these signs into text or speech instantaneously, offering a seamless interface for natural communication. Leveraging additional libraries like OpenCV and Matplotlib for optimized video processing and visualization, the proposed solution provides an accessible, low-cost tool for fostering inclusivity. Experimental results demonstrate that the combination of landmark-based tracking and ensemble learning offers high accuracy and responsiveness, making it a viable assistive technology for diverse social and professional environments.
