| TITLE | Digital Dairy Supply Chains and Sustainable Development: A Case Study of Dairycentre.in, India |
|---|---|
| ABSTRACT | India is the world’s largest producer of milk; however, the dairy sector continues to face significant challenges such as farmer exploitation, supply chain inefficiencies, and inadequate cold storage infrastructure. This study examines Dairycentre.in as a digital dairy supply chain model and evaluates its contribution to sustainability, farmer welfare, and efficient dairy distribution. A qualitative case study approach was adopted, incorporating primary observations of Dairycentre.in’s operations along with secondary data from government reports and academic literature. The findings reveal that digital integration, efficient cold-chain logistics, and direct farmer engagement significantly reduce product wastage, ensure fair pricing for farmers, and enhance overall product quality. The study concludes that digital dairy entrepreneurship models such as Dairycentre.in demonstrate strong potential for promoting sustainable rural development and scalable agri-business innovation in India. |
