| TITLE | Ethical Considerations in AI and Automation Integration Within the Life Insurance Industry |
|---|---|
| ABSTRACT | The high pace of applying the use of artificial intelligence and automation technologies to the life insurance industry is a paradigm shift in the operational modalities and customer engagement policies. Although the advantages of these technological advancements are enormous in terms of their efficiency, accuracy in underwriting, and personalization of services, they also present sophisticated ethical issues that need to be given due attention. The article will discuss the ethical dilemma of AI application in life insurance, which is complex and multifaceted, addressing such critical topics as the protection of data privacy, the reduction of algorithmic bias, the transparency of decisions, and the regulation. It discusses how the widening data collection practices cause privacy issues, how discrimination can be reproduced using algorithms based on proxies, and how a lack of transparency can weaken accountability. The article indicates that ethical considerations left unchecked can result in institutional discrimination, loss of consumer confidence, and non-regulatory compliance. Through the combination of the opinions of multiple stakeholders, the article suggests futuristic models of incorporating ethics across the lifecycle of AI development, the creation of cooperative governance frameworks, and the establishment of ethical capacity within organizations. This in-depth article provides a way forward towards responsible innovation that will strike a balance between the growth in technology and ethical uprightness in the changing life insurance environment. |
