| ABSTRACT | In modern recruitment processes, effective interview performance is essential for securing employment opportunities, yet many candidates lack access to structured interview training and personalized feedback. Traditional training methods such as classroom mock interviews or one-time mentor sessions are not scalable, often dependent on expert availability, and do not provide continuous evaluation. This paper presents MockMate, an AI-based mock interview platform designed to enable users to practice interviews, receive detailed performance assessments, and improve their communication and technical skills through automated feedback. The system supports multiple interview categories, including HR and technical roles, and evaluates a user’s responses based on speech clarity, confidence, domain knowledge, and behavioural aspects. Developed using Next.js, Node.js, and AI evaluation models, the solution integrates a real-time interview interface, automated scoring, and personalized recommendations to offer a complete training experience without requiring physical mentor participation. Experimental evaluation demonstrates high system reliability, effective response analysis, and significant improvement in candidate confidence and interview readiness. |
